What We Evaluate
Each rating combines output quality, ease of use, pricing and free-tier value, use-case fit, collaboration features, export limits, onboarding friction, and how the tool compares with direct alternatives.
Hands-On Checks
For each major review, we create or inspect a representative project, test the core workflow, review plan limits, check current positioning, and compare the tool against nearby options in the same category.
A hands-on review means we evaluate the product flow a buyer would actually care about: signup friction, how quickly a new user reaches a first usable output, output quality, export limits, and whether the tool matches its advertised use case.
Pricing Checks
Pricing and free-plan notes are checked from the tool's public pricing information when pages are refreshed. Because AI tools change quickly, review pages include a visible update month and a reminder to confirm current limits before buying.
Scoring
Scores are editorial judgments on a 5-point scale. A high score means the tool is strong for its stated use case, not that it is the best choice for every user.
- 4.5-5.0: category-leading for its intended user.
- 4.0-4.4: strong choice with clear tradeoffs.
- 3.5-3.9: useful for narrower or budget-specific needs.
- Below 3.5: only recommended when a specific feature or price point outweighs limitations.
Updates
Pricing, free-tier limits, and product features are reviewed periodically. Pages show an update month so readers can judge freshness before buying.
